Location: Different mountains than Strat.
Fri night: Made dinner with the wife, then vegged out on the couch. Watched Wally catch and kill a mouse outside.

Sat: Great day! Went to Ulery's Lake (mountain resort area) with wife, my buddy, his kids and his sister. Tried SUP for the first time, liked it much more than i was anticipating. Read by the lake, had some good tacos. Came home and shopped online, scored a good outfit for my friends' wedding next month. Played FIFA. Made dinner. Watched Three Billboards (mostly sucked). In bed by 11pm. I can almost remember life before the ice cream season took over.

Today: Heading to a brewery with the same friends from yesterday, then grilling at their place.

Labor Day: No idea.

SUP'ing can be a good time. You went on a lake, yea? I find that much more peaceful and enjoyable than taking one down a river. I was also surprised at how difficult it was to stay balanced on the board. Not a bad workout either.

I loved Three Billboards, but i see this has been discussed in the appropriate thread already.

I didnt do much this weekend. Worked a little. Hiked. Vegged. Cleaned.

Is it the weekend again yet?

I got invited to a 30th birthday party next Saturday. It has a Roman/Greek theme and togas are encouraged. Do people still dress up for non-Halloween parties? Isn't that more of a college thing?

Went to see Star Wars: A New Hope Live yesterday with the Oregon Symphony with the fam. Lots of people dressed up both in Star Wars garb and just plain dressed up. Also a lot of people wearing ironic SW shirts and a bunch more just wearing whatever. It was a motley group of people to be sure.

Our seats weren't great - it was the first time I'd been to this place so I had no idea what seating was like - so the top 1/3 of the screen was cut off. Not a huge deal though. The version of the movie they used was the SE so there was that terrible CG shoved into the scenes. It looked amazing though on the big screen, so much better than most versions I've seen.

Back to the seats: If we had been there to see a regular symphony show our seats would have been fine but with the addition of the screen the large balcony overhang was a problem. Again, not a big problem. There were three rows of seats in front of us that no one was using (we were in the handicapped area) and my son said he didn't want to move up so we just stayed there.

This was the first in a series of shows from the symphony: up next is Star Trek Beyond, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Of the three I want to see Nightmare but that one sold out almost immediately.
