How do you still get live sports?
I use my parents cable login to use the NBC Sports and ESPN apps and just run and HDMI cable from my computer to my TV.
This. Also, I've been using Sling TV through my Roku for March Madness.
So my current cable plan probably has 200'ish channels. Of these, any given game I want to see could be on one of maybe 20-30 different channels. Ditching cable would significantly limit my chances of watching the live game I want. Right???
ABC NBC CBS FOX FS1 PAC12 TBS TNT NBATV NFL Network ESPN (about 5 of them) TruTV Etc. Etc.

i mean, yeah, it does limit what you can watch sports wise, but who has time to watch that much sport these days anyway?

i'm the same way. i either need to really be in the mood to watch sports, or the sporting event needs to have significant implications, to hold my interest.

The network TV channels you could get for free with an HD receiver. NBC Sports, ESPN and Fox Sports all offer apps to watch online (as long as you have someone elses cable login)

I axed cable a long time ago. It was easy for my family b/c we aren't big sports people. The sporting events we watch, college football, superbowl, various championships, we usually catch at someone's house or at a bar.
We use Netflix (DVDs and streaming), Amazon Prime, and more YouTube than I would have originally thought.

I'm not trying to watch every single televised game.
When there is a game on that I can't miss, I want to be sure I can see it. That game could be on any number of channels - not just NBC or ESPN.
This is why I still have cable. I don't see a foolproof alternative out there.
I was able to stream most Vikings football games on the internet no problem. Now I have a new mac that i can just send it to directly to my apple tv.
Also, guess who's internet isn't working? lol . Comcast is the fucking worst. They will be out sometime tomorrow between 2 and 4.
Unbelievable.
My self install kit arrived yesterday. Plugged everything in, no service. Spent an hour on the phone last night only to get hung up on. Another hour this morning only to have her tell me that it isn't working and to try and send someone out tomorrow( which is what I HAD been told last night before I was hung up on. I blew a gasket and now someone will be here tonight between 6-8. Fuckers better get it right. Aaarrrgh

So, I was on the phone with them for about 45 minutes yesterday trying to get the internet to work. Working with Tech Support and all (of course after being transferred a couple times for good measure. They finally said they would send a tech support out (20 hours later) and the tech guy gets there and says "Honestly we did some work outside a couple days ago and everyone lost their internet. Your connection is fine, your internet name is just different so you have to reconnect with your password". Why comcast couldnt tell us this when we called in....I will never know. Lol at comcast.
