The co-worker whose BBQ I didn't go to after all: "Yeah, it was a good time. A lot of people showed up. (pause) But (____) blew me off!"

I think it was the party she threw for herself for surviving a stroke a year ago.

A coworker just pounded on my door, scaring the crap outta me and barged in, asking 'which through/threw is it?' when talking about walking through a door... I said 't-h-r-o-u-g-h' ... he said 'oh, ok' then left... no 'thank you'...

An absolutely unbearable, obnoxious woman sits by me, and I just heard her say that she’s “passionately” anti-Mars exploration and now I genuinely hope she dies

I can understand being passionately for Mars exploration, and I can understand being indifferent to the matter. I can't understand being passionately against it.
