Are there any things you say or do that you know are not funny or entertaining and may even be irritating or harmful but you do/say them to/around people anyway?

Sometimes I loudly fart.

My buddies from high school always "doded" or "tapped" each other in the nuts. I made clear from the outset that I was not interested. They can do it to each other all they want, but they never have to be on the defensive around me because I promised I would never do it, and I never did. So they left my nutsack alone.

The one exception was when I was at one of their houses and guy grabs a pillow and just SLAMS me in the nuts. It fucking hurt so bad. I told him I would get him back when he never expects it so he was overly cautious around me for a while which was pretty funny, then I started telling him I was going to do it on his wedding day and there was no stopping me, so that was in his head for a few years.

I ended up getting him on his 21st birthday at a bowling alley and he's just there writhing around in front of everyone. Totally worth it.

But anyway no, Tree, I'm generally not a fan of this type of thing.

To this day when we all hang out they still all have this awkward physical presence around one another ... part normal, part skeptical that they're about to get tapped so they keep their hands ready to defend against it, and part looking for an opportunity to strike. So fkn weird.

Pushing 40 and never had kids, married over 10 years. So maybe.

Quick follow-up question... are you saying that you also don't think loudly farting is funny nor entertaining? I'm confused if this whether or not this is a question about things that we find funny/entertaining but that others don't.

Like ... you fart because you know it harms the person and you don't care? Or you fart because you think it's funny and it be damned if it harms someone else or not?

Why do you enjoy inflicting pain on others, especially loved ones?

Or you fart because you have to fart so badly that you don't have time to do it in another room so you just let it rip as an uncontrollable bodily function, and then whatever happens happens?

kind of animals sometimes, us humans.. maybe me moreso than the likes of joey

when I really think about it.. i think i just like the feeling of pushing it out and letting it rip, despite knowing my wife thinks it's disgusting.. and i feel terribly about it soon after.. this is perhaps the same part of me that indulges in too much alcohol and junk food.. sometimes things just feel good, despite their consequences
