Audible G sound is so obviously wrong that when people use it I think they're being ironic.

The alternate (superior) pronunciation of "ugh" neither sounds like the interjection "uhh" nor is it used in the same manner

Okay replace "superior" for "less dumb-sounding"

Now every time I read the word "ugh" I am going to imagine the person grunting like a caveman and laugh

So like I've said in other threads, I'm in my hometown for a few weeks. Today a girl I've known since high school, and with whom I had a brief fling during a visit here 8 years ago (!!!), reached out to me on Instagram (of all places) and said she'd love to see me while I'm around. It's kind of a non-starter for a number of reasons, but what's the most polite way to say "no thanks"? I feel like saying "I'm in a relationship" is presumptuous, so should I just lie and say I'm... busy? For the rest of my time here? She already knows I'm here 'til the 15th.

Yeah just say you've got a busy schedule and if some free time opens up, you'll let her know. Otherwise, maybe you can catch up next time.

For the record, I was never friends with her before or after the fling, which only lasted about 10 days. We haven't really been in touch since beyond the odd Facebook birthday post.

You're not obligated to do anything. The nice thing to do is to decline politely.
