I enjoyed the higher alcohol content for such little $. It has a harsh rusty flavor I enjoy in a cheap beer. You can do much worse when choosing cheap beers. I prefer rust flavor to watery no flavor.

Yes cheap heroin is way worse.

Yeah. Not the first time he’s mentioned something like this. Seems like a shocking lack of compassion/empathy for a partner.
You don't know what it's like living with bune...

I don't know man. I think she's just getting tired of dealing with my depression, and I gotta say I'm pretty much done with it too.

Realize, again, that when I post in this thread I'm not Mr. Happy so the perspective is skewed. I am insufferable to live with as I do not cheer up easily. I'm probably the easiest person to laugh that you'll ever meet but if I'm in a bad mood almost nothing can drag me out. (I blame that on years of being teased at school as I trained myself to not react to anything) I am incredibly insecure and second guess pretty much everything. My phone is on permanent do not disturb because I'm afraid of annoying the people I work with. I am pretty much a wreck and the fact she's spent 20 years with me says a lot.

Is she emotionally distant? Sometimes, but she is always trying to help me first. Like I said, this is the first time she's actually told me how she feels and it's been almost three months. She's been trying to be there for me for a long time.

I mean, ok? I snore though.

Some times, for the good of the group, you do need to turn off whatever shit you are going through and show up positively for your loved ones. However, there definitely seems to be a pattern of her not giving you space for feeling how you feel.

Also, i feel super awkward saying things about a couple i have never met.

Yeah, it's weird huh. And I agree with you, it's just difficult to hit that switch.

She also struggles dealing with her own motions, from what he's said. But I would like to hear her side before making any judgement or diagnoses.
I gotta stop quoting everyone at some point...

She has to deal with some pretty big PTSD from something that happened to her when she was younger. She's also dealing with a teenager who has started to act like one and summer break just started. So having with all that and me at the same time is understandably taking a bit of a toll. We've been together for a very long time and have gone through some ups and downs. This is a down, it'll pass. (Maybe I need to make that my mantra for now.)

As for work: I was in Seattle for the previous two weeks and saw my boss last Thursday and he had Friday off. Before that he was at a conference for two weeks and I saw him for two days after Memorial Day. This week he's in Texas, next week I'm on vacation. The next two weeks he's out for his 25th anniversary and the two weeks after that I'm out for my 20th. I am not going to see him again until August. And since he's the only person who knows what he wants me to do so I'm taking a lot of mandatory training and doing some SharePoint training because I got an email from him saying "I want it to look like this!" and I don't even know how they got this to work.

Oh and something about a 14 million dollar budget that I'm supposed to be tracking but from what I can tell no one here has an SOP as to how its supposed to work so I'm working on how to fix that. Which makes me have little panic attacks by itself because a) 14 million!?!? and b) wtf is an option year and c) Holy Shit they still use DOS-based programs for this shit? He did say that maybe having someone with no clue what was going on might make it work better but I have to say you have a GS14 working the budget, why are you trusting an excel spreadsheet run by someone not in accounting to have accurate numbers? Maybe rethink that by going back to the budget guy, eh.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time, bune, and I'm rooting for you. You can think of me as your friend, if that helps. PM me if you'd like.

As phatj said, one day at a time.

Still wish I didn't take this job, but I'm following that internal lament up with "but let's see what I can do here" so it's not a total negative-nancy party.

I read this while on vacation last week and I have to say it was both enlightening and depressing. I also have to say I did not know what it was about because I bought it a few months ago and it was just sitting on my kindle. Anyway. Wow, what a book. It's hard to review it because it's a product of time for me as the last two months or so have had me hitting the deepest parts of my depression ever so reading this was like reading a book someone wrote to me. (I'm not schizophrenic though so that part missed me by. So far?)

The part that stood out for me the most is where Caden realizes that while his mental illness hit him, it also hit his family. It's certainly possible to lose yourself in your illness to the point where you forget about what it's doing to the people around you. It's hard to force yourself to see outside of what is happening to you to see what is happening to them.

Did the book make it easier for me to deal with my depression? No. I don't think I can do that alone - especially for those times when I'm daydreaming about running into a bridge support doing 80 - but it did give me a chance to think about how it affects those around me.

Also don't read this while you're supposed to be having fun.

Quote:
“The fear of not living is a deep, abiding dread of watching your own potential decompose into irredeemable disappointment when 'should be' gets crushed by what is. Sometimes I think it would be easier to die than to face that, because 'what could have been' is much more highly regarded than 'what should have been.' Dead kids are put on pedestals, but mentally ill kids get hidden under the rug.”

“I used to be afraid of dying. Now I’m afraid of not living. There’s a difference. We go through life planning for a future, but sometimes that future never comes.”

Hey boys I took off today for wife's Dr. Appointment. Dr. Is looking inside her now.

I got half them done, cleaned the deck but didn't mow.

went to the doctor yesterday and he said i might have bronchospasms but i don't think that's it.. prescribed an inhaler to see if that fixes it and if it does we know what the problem is but it costs $60 after deductible so no thanks.. and i tried out my wife's and it doesn't seem to help... it's most likely anxiety causing poor breathing patterns ... cause i breath fine while sleeping or super relaxed ... i feel so off ... it sucks feeling like I can't breath correctly... something's wrong with me... I have been getting very moody... angry at people lately... and that's when my breathing's the worst...
