Guys, relax. It's just roads. We'll all get where we need to go.

Where we're going, we don't need roads.

I'm making an exception to this...

So last night on my bike commute home, the main artery I use to get from downtown was flooded with a Critical Mass ride. Hundreds of riders disrupting traffic and riding like idiots. I had no choice but to join the pack for several blocks as I darted towards the right side of the road and turned off towards a parallel street. I felt embarrassed to be among these riders even for the short time I was riding with them.

I don't hate much in this world, but I hate those rides.

1. I felt unsafe. The anger from the drivers as the pack barreled through red lights en masse was palpable. It's only a matter of time before we read about a driver plowing into riders.
2. I felt even more unsafe holding my line among these drunken, swerving riders. Or worse, the stoned riders who felt like coasting out of their saddle at 9 mph.
3. I know the mission statement of Critical Mass is to "raise awareness of cycling rights," but the entire nature of this disruptive ride sets that goal waaaaay back.
4. The route I usually take home goes right in front of the Toyota Center. The Rockets played at home last night. This ride happened thirty minutes before game time, backing up pre-game traffic. What dicks.

Most of them are just anarchist wannabes who think that they're "doing something important" when really they're just fucking it up for everyone else on a bike.

For the past couple of days - Visual Studio. Keeps crashing and having to restart whenever I try and edit a .ascx or .aspx file, so lately I've been having to code in Notepad and do a cut and paste into the new file and hope I can hit the save button before the inevitable crash
