There's a kind of nervous half-chuckle that people do when they want to ensure everyone knows what they just said was a joke, often during speeches and presentations and the like. "I guess you could say our Q3 earnings were (insert pun here). Umm HEHE anyway..." Somehow it's really been driving me up the wall ever since I became aware of it.
