If you take the yearly flu shot it's possible you won't get the flu. It doesn't protect someone across the country. You don't become a Marvel superhero for doing it. The flu continues to exist. People should make their decision and just stfu about it. Stop worrying about everyone else.

Yes, let’s definitely stop thinking of how our choices affect other people. Absolutely splendid take, old chap.

You're generalizing what I'm saying to make it easier to take a shot at me. It's okay. I understand why you have to do that.

Not driving 100mph in a 30mph speed zone is me thinking about others. Taking a 50 percent effective shot for a constantly evolving endemic virus is just a personal choice to make so maybe I won't feel like shit for a few days. It doesn't save the world.

I read your post too quickly, and realized I jumped a step ahead, but didn’t delete mine. It was bias I’m holding based on your covid takes. I agree with you, actually.

I don't go over the speed limit very often. People don't realize how hard that is on your vehicle.

Interesting. One bout of flu was enough to convince me to get the vaccine every year. What type of reaction did you have to the vaccine?

Each time I’ve gotten the flu shot I’ve ended up having flu symptoms within a few days. Like I said, it’s been awhile since I get the shot. And it’s been a while since I’ve had the flu. But I’ve also had the flu in years when I’ve been vaccinated. So my motivation isn’t there at this point. I think my kids typically get the shot but that is something they do with their mom so I’m not even 100% sure they get it every year. Actually, I just asked my 15 year old and she said they don’t get it every year. “Probably half the time” was her response.

we really need to start thinking about vaccines differently. as in, it doesn’t just protect the individual, but also others and curbs spread.

Hey man, it’s supposedly a free country, think about vaccines whatever you want.

Ugh
