The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
We don't second page the chess thread, guys. Even if Dev shows up and tells awkward lies to make friends on the internet. We need to keep on promoting our pawns and fianchettoing our bishops. No retreat. No surrender.

Anyway, the recent "IM not a GM" championship showcased some intense games, especially IM Rosen vs. IM Rozman. Bullet is so much better with increment.

I have been able to maintain my ELO above 800 since my chess.com reboot. My strategy has been to not play at all and just do drills and puzzles, which do not count against your ELO.

Make a new new burner. Not playing is a great way to not improve.
I look at it like running. No one gets faster and builds up more mileage without taking off days. Going too hard is a great way to get hurt. Sitting a few days out will only help my chess muscles recover and strengthen so that I can safely and comfortably build on my pace the next time I go out. Better castle your kings, playas. I'll check ya soon.
