If you may be away for a while, I have to ask, is your nickname pronounced “D.P. up in ya”?

Also, fuck Nevada and good luck. *fingers crossed*

There were additional charges originally, none of which I think I did. Which is why I was prepared to take it to trial. But in my 20's I picked up some unrelated felonies in California, and the district attorney threatened that if I took the case to trial he would add a habitual criminal charge which would have exposed me to 25-life. Clearly that wasn't a route I was looking for, so my lawyer proposed this plea deal and the DA accepted. The whole thing has been incredibly stressful on my family. It's been a long 14 months dealing with courts and now I just wait and hope.

But I guess that doesn't answer your question. No, the victim probably didn't have it coming.

So, is there a possibility of parole here? Like you could just get two years, but maybe out earlier for good behavior or something?

My understanding of how sentencing works is the judge has a high/low option. The low range would be 2-6, the high 4-10; of which I would have to serve either of the base terms and then be eligible for parole.

Case in point, OJ was given something like 9-36... he served 9 and they granted his parole.

As for security level ,I would probably be a level 2 or 3... Nothing severe enough to warrant level 4, but not minor enough to be level 1...which sucks because to be an inmate firefighter I think I need level 1.
