I've become obssessed with Jungian Archetypes and I don't know why it took me so long to figure out the relevance of this stuff. It was a total blindspot.

Over a decade I chose the chesire cat as my avatar based on a deep intuition. Today I am reading about the trickster archetype and realize the crux of my identity and the majority of my behaviour is an universal archetype.

K. So if certain social services are inadequate why? Maybe there is no incentive for them to be good because they are not subject to the free market. But how would certain social services even function in the free market? I don't see how you make an adoption agency or child and family services profitable. I know this is some basic shit so what would be the cliche libertarian solution to this?

i think social services as we know them and the free market are at odds with one another because one is based on free utility and the other is based on rent-seeking

It really infuriates me when nerds say that the Tau should be the good guys in Warhammer 40k. "they're just naive!" the fools say. But there are no good guys in 40k!

All the factions are evil. You have the blatantly evil Chaos Daemons (literally from Hell), the Dark Eldar, who thrive off of torture, the racist regular Eldar, the utterly alien Tyrannids, the Orks (who literally have violence in their DNA) and the various human forces, all of which are hopelessly trapped in a death spiral of religious fundamentalism and fascist government structure.

The Tau seem nice on the surface, but clearly they are evil space commies with ulterior motives. The entire race has been enslaved by a mysterious sect of psychics preaching about the Greater Good while reforming society into a rigid caste system and secretly sterilizing races they conquer or ally with. They represent a new and insidious form of evil, not hope.

There is no hope in 40k. All will be destroyed in the end.

The only real hero is the lowly Imperial Guard soldier: poorly trained and equipped, sent to fight against horrors he couldn't possibly comprehend on a backwater planet far from his home, only to die, forgotten and in agony, along with millions of his fellows. All for what is probably a clerical error made by his uncaring and corrupt superiors.

But they hold the line.

We can rank the Space Marine chapters.

Clearly the Dark Angels are coolest.
